You canft understand Korean drinking culture without understanding the spirit behind it. There are several Korean words that describe it, none with a direct English translation, but they all break down to mean something between gaffectionh, gcamaraderieh, gfriendshiph, and gteam spirith. This is the centerpiece of, and the reasoning behind, Korean drinking culture- Koreans drink to firm up bonds, and to establish friendships and working relationships. Thatfs why often times, long days at the office are followed by long, boozy evenings out, with the entire office taking part.

So in this spirit, when drinking in Korea or with Koreans, itfs a good idea (and not to mention, an awful lot of fun) to follow some of these grulesh and traditions:
